  • Biography

    Artist Judy McLeod creates rich and compelling collages constructed of patterned papers, drawing, painting, wax, and exotic mixed media. She has exhibited widely and taken top museum awards throughout Virginia and the Central Atlantic region while residing in Charlottesville, Virginia for more than 3 decades.

    McLeod taught Art Foundations, Drawing, and Painting & Printmaking at the School of the Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia for more than 20 years and continues to teach graduate visual art courses for VCU’s Master of Interdisciplinary Studies Program. She has also taught at University of Virginia in various Arts Education courses and programs through the Curry School of Education. As Coordinator, Teacher, and Program Director, McLeod has worked extensively in the Charlottesville City Schools in programs for the gifted in visual arts.

    Judy McLeod received a prestigious NEA Travel/Study grant and she has been the recipient twice of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship Grant. Regionally, she was awarded a Piedmont Council of the Arts Award for outstanding achievement in arts education.
